Jesse Taylor Smith

Was my friend in the middle of middle school until the start of high school.

Jesse's house  - was differnet from my other friend's houses.

His parents were intermittently around - and let us do our own thing- without much supervision at all.

We drank pop; ate chips; watched terrible horror movies, listened to heavy metal that started to morph into at least guns and roses and the fringes of grunge  by the end.

We had a few beers and snuck an occasional smoke - but we ran loose on the lower west side of Erie- and had a good time and really didn't get into all that much trouble- considering...

Warm beers behind the garage

An atmosphere of cats and cigarette smoke

A fair amount of marginally deliquent fun.

It looks as if Jesse has followed in his fathers footsteps- now a local musician.  I stopped and saw him play recently - I just watched and listened to him- he reminds me alot of himself.

It wasn't till I went to paint the pisture that I realized that this house was probably made by the same builders as the house that Aida and Libby were born into on West 9th in Erie.

This ouse however is wedged between two other houses- on the south side of a seemingly quick moving 8th street.

The house was nice enough on the inside- but it felt - and still does as if is a bit void of sunlight and green living things.
